02.2 SOFT SKILLS
COMMUNICATION
Throughout my career, I have learned the importance and benefits of clear communication.
It helped me develop a keen sensitivity to nuances in language and context, enhancing my capacity to convey ideas with clarity and precision.
LEADERSHIP
I have successfully led teams for 12+ years of my professional career.
It helped me hone my abilities in assessing people's strengths and motivating diverse groups towards common goals.
ADAPTABILITY
I have strong bias to action and I am always ready to adapt or pivot.
Tech's ever-changing landscape with its constant need for learning new frameworks and adjusting one's strategies is very in line with my strengths.
PROBLEM SOLVING
One of the main reasons I decided to transition into tech is my love for problem solving.
Whether it was logistics and management in my previous line of work, coding challenges and dealing with persistent errors now, or cryptographic riddles I was obsessed with as a teenager.
Thanks to my innate curiosity and resilience, I found that the process itself always brings me enormous satisfaction.
SECRET SUPERPOWER
Being an ambivert is possibly the root of all my greatest strengths.
My extrovert qualities and sense of humour make me a great team-player. I make everyone feel safe and heard in my presence.
The introvert side gives me great introspection skills, always allowing me to adapt and do what is necessary to solve whatever problem I am presented with.
Both those combined help me find compromise where needed, as well as strength and assertiveness where necessary.
03 ABOUT
I always pursue my curiosity. Consuming a variety of tech related blogs and podcasts, combined with my long love of problem solving, has eventually led me to finally leave my 12-year long retail management career. Finally, I joined and subsequently graduated from the Makers Academy software development bootcamp.
In just 3 months, I have learned the foundations of modern web development technologies and got to team up on building 3 full-stack web apps. The latter has proven especially beneficial, because it allowed me to learn how to navigate working as a part of a team on the whole process of software development. From project management and implementing agile methodology, to code reviews and solving those inevitable merging conflicts.
I am now ready to start my career in tech. I feel I have barely scratched the surface yet and I am keen to build on my experiences and keep learning and growing as a software developer.
